[Sea] The Blue Skies

The invisible sea, flowing
Around us, a winter leaf drifts
Like a boat without a captain,
Caught up in gentle breezes.

Adrift, bound for the distant shores.
Where will you go, uncertainty.
It matters very little here
Out in the blue waves of heaven.

The destination is unknown,
This vessle, a sigh on the wind;
Drifting quietly down, down, down
Signifying a seasons end.

I went through this poem putting it into metrical feet with every intention to go back in and work on the rhyme scheme. Well, I messed and I dawdled and I came to the conclusion that sometimes things are better left alone.

Some[where]?

Somewhere in this grey mist of reoccurring day after day.
An endless string tied end to end,
There is no point, no reference, no item
no lamp, no guidepost to awaken you to a path.
Sleepy meandering, lazy rivers slowly flowing, ever flowing.
Every dizzying day into every dizzying night
Each feeling numbed and dulled into an eternal plight.
Clumsy hands ever searching ever feeling
Squinting eyes always looking, peering, gazing.
Lost in the great expance of eternity
Groping, searching, finding only the smoothest glass.
Every step revealing, in the haze of the fog
A new turn, a new way, a new path, a new day.
Lost after a lifetime of days, every path and every way
Takes us somewhere deeper, but only deeper with no change
Left or right, up or down, will it matter
In this great expance of forever?

With Great Love, Comes Great Pain.

Precious stones, the rich sunsets.
So many beauties
in this earth, to behold.
The slight flutter in your heart
The awe of your mind,
It all seems so small,
When my mind is fixed on you.
An experience more deep
than the mighty ocean tide,
A joy more rich
than the sweetest summer sun,
An excitement more fresh
than a new life just begun.
A fear more piercing
than a step into nothing,
A worry more heavy
than the greatest mountain side.
With great love,
great cares will always stay,
Please remember, when I'm afraid
It is because I live while thinking
of the great amount I love you.

Hibernation

Awaken from a deep winter,
Long covered over
Lie, neglected for other things,
Busy rushing with this and that
Obligations and complications.
A few precious moments between
The spaces of work and worry
Out on the steps,
In the days of a new spring;
The warm summer sun
Melts the ice away so timidly.
Whispering gently,
To the dreams of our souls,
"Wake up and remember,
Take a chance on the future."
In a clear blue sky it is easy
To recall those lofty dreams
We held in private;
Tangled down now
With cobwebs of exhaustion.
Take the time once again
To hear in the rustling of the trees,
Those dreams in you
That will always be.
